Meta is all set to roll out its paid verification service, Meta Verified, marked with a Blue Badge of authentication

The first phase of the roll out is expected to happen in Australia and NZ next week and thereafter in phases

The service will authenticate users of their accounts and provide a blue badge as a mark of the verification

The service will be available against a charge of $11.99 on the web and $14.99 on iOS currently

The verification of the accounts will be subjected to providing a Government issued ID card for facilitating it

The Blue Badge will be accompanied with an “extra impersonation protection” and customer support as well

The Meta Verified is In line with the Twitter Blue that was initially announced by Twitter for verification

It is however yet to be confirmed how the users across the globe will react to the charge for the verification
