Michigan State University shooting kills 3 and injures 5

Unfortunate and unexpected bullet shots were fired inside the Union building inside the Michigan State University Campus on Monday, 13th February 2023 evening killing 3 and injuring 5 as per the latest reports from sources. The police reports confirmed that the Michigan State University shooting took place inside the Union Hall of the University building and the victims were also located inside the same hall.

Michigan State University shooting: Initial findings

The initial findings coupled with the police reports during the early stages of the investigation into the Michigan State University shooting have been able to zero-in on a faint picture of the assailant. However, the assailant’s name is yet to be identified. The CCTV footage shows an individual wrapped up in a mask who is believed to have carried out the Michigan State University shooting and the hunt for the gunman is on full swing by the Michigan State University Police. Chris Rozman, interim deputy chief of the campus police department went on record, saying, “We tended to the victims at both of those scenes, and there was an overwhelming law enforcement response to campus.”

Shooting suspect at large

The suspect of the Michigan State University shooting identified through the surveillance footages is described as a man with a short stature wearing a denim jacket and a black cap. The suspect was last seen leaving the Union building inside the Michigan State University Campus “on foot on the north side of that building.” The current news update is Police have already restricted public access inside the University campus and all scheduled activities inside the University premises have been canceled for the next 2 days.

Students in a state of shock

Ben Finkelstein, a senior, said he was sheltering in place in his room. “I don’t think I’ve ever been this scared,” he said. “I’ve been listening to the police scanner for an hour.”

Finkelstein said he was hiding under a pile of dirty laundry in his first-floor room. He closed all of his blinds and turned off his lights and is visibly in a state of shock following the Michigan State University shooting.

Aedan Kelley, a junior who lives a half-mile east of campus, said he locked his doors and covered his windows “just in case.” Sirens were constant, he said, and a helicopter hovered overhead

The Governor of Michigan State Gretchen Whitmer has confirmed that she has already been briefed on the Michigan State University shooting and will do everything on her part to catch the killer at its earliest.
