Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed publicly that his Automobile company Tesla will soon be investing in India. His announcement comes after the meeting held with PM Modi, who is currently on a 3-day tour of the US where he is also scheduled to address a joint session of the US Congress. Modi was also scheduled to meet the top business leaders in the US in his pursuit of attracting foreign investments in India, as has set forth his mission on the right foot and in spirit.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirms his India calling
Addressing the media after his meeting with the Indian PM, Musk said, “It was a fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister and I like him quite a lot. He visited our factory a few years ago. So, we have known each other for a while. I am incredibly excited about the future of India. I think India has more promise than any large country in the world.” This particular meeting between the Tesla CEO and PM Modi happens to be the 2nd one after they both met in 2015, where the visiting PM was given a tour of the Tesla facility in California.
Musk also said, “PM Modi really cares about India because he is pushing us to make a significant investment in India, which is something that we tend to do. We just have to figure out the right timing,” the Twitter chief added. “He really wants to do the right thing for India. He wants to be open, he wants to be supportive of the companies. And obviously, at the same time, make sure that it accrues to India’s advantage.”
PM Modi equally happy about the developments of his ongoing mission
PM Narendra Modi is equally elated with the way things have unfolded on this US tour for him. He has been bestowed with the rare honor of addressing the Senate. From India’s point of view, the ongoing tussle that started with Russia’s attack on Ukraine has divided the world through a hypocritical demarcation of good and evil, which had initially made the going tough for the world’s fastest-growing economy and the highest-populated country.
India has always been the most sought-after partner for the US, especially when the US is up in arms against Russia and China. The presence of the US fleet in the Indian Ocean can give the US a strategic advantage which is not possible without support from India.
