Telangana Elections 2023 gets Congress to announce sops in a desperate bid to make their presence felt. Rahul Gandhi, in his election campaign at a huge congregation in Khammam, announced several sops that would be granted to the citizens, if Congress is voted to power. He even blamed the BRS as the B Team of the BJP. All these sops happen to be a desperate attempt by the Congress to grab as many seats as possible, leading to the Parliamentary Elections next year.
Telangana Elections 2023 – Congress for subsidies
Towing the lines of the current BRS Government in the state, which happens to provide Rs. 2000 as an Aasara pension to the senior citizens and widows, the Congress announced that they would double the same to Rs. 4000 if voted to power. The Asara Scheme launched by the present government happens to be one of the most popular citizen welfare schemes for the state that has translated to votes for the BRS.
The announcement of the Cheyutha scheme completed the trilogy, after the Warangal Farmers’ Declaration and Hyderabad Youth Declaration. Gandhi, who began his speech to a rapturous response by saying, “I am delighted to be back in Telangana after the Bharat Jodo Yatra again…”, announced that the Congress government which will be formed after the next state Assembly elections will give a pension of Rs 4,000 per month to senior citizens, physically handicapped, artisans and other categories.

Riding on the confidence derived from the recent win in the Karnataka State elections, the Congress party is hopeful of continuing the winning run in Telangana as well. As per the latest breaking news the party is said to have stood strong to engage the farmer votes apart from the Dalit, OBC, women and youth votes in the state. In his campaign for the Telangana Elections 2023, former Congress President, Rahul Gandhi blamed the present State Government for massive corruption, which was received by the crowds with applause.
Apart from Rahul Gandhi, the local Congress leaders like Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief A. Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikaramarka, who had been on a 110-long tour across the State were received by the audience with much fervor, indicating a possible change of regime on the cards.
