ONGC or Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India, is a government undertaking autonomous body which came into being in 1956. It is supposedly the brainchild of the-then Prime Minister of India, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru. With its head office located in Delhi, the company is the biggest producer of crude oil in India. Currently, the ONGC exam 2023 is for recruitment in various Technical and non-Technical positions like, Engineers, Graduate Trainees, Medical Officers and in Sales. Notifications for recruitment is released by ONGC based on their requirements in the country’s leading newspapers apart from its website. The examination has been scheduled in February 2023, awaiting notifications on the exact date.
Examination Pattern of ONGC exam 2023
The examination pattern for the exam consists of 2 phases namely, Written Test and Personal Interview. The subjects covered in the written exam for Non-Executive positions include, English Language Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Maths apart from the core subject related questions. The General Aptitude part has 20 questions and the core subject questions carry 80 marks for a total of 100 questions. Candidates shortlisted in the Written exam qualify for the interview.
Eligibility Criteria
Even though, the job grades in ONGC range from E1 to E5, but most of the recruitment happens for the Entry Level positions (E1).
Educational Qualifications for the positions vary with respect to the desired skillset for the particular designation, but in general, Engineering graduates, Science graduates or postgraduates in these streams are eligible for the Technical positions. Candidates who have secured minimum 60% marks in their respective Graduation exams from recognized Universities are eligible to apply for the positions.

- Once on the website, candidates can select the New Registration option to go ahead with the application process by following the on screen instructions.
