KIFF 2022 is currently underway in a star-studded affair

The KIFF 2022 or the Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 was inaugurated on Thursday December 15, 2022. The occasion was graced by stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee with their valuable presence. The KIFF is one of the biggest platforms for showcasing Indian and Foreign films not only in the sub-continent, but also in South –East Asia. The festival has been thrown open to public from December 15^th to December 22^nd. Considered to be a movie lover’s path to salvation, the festival is at its 28^th year now and have showcased movies that are not just the best in the country but in the entire motion picture ecospace. It showcases the works of the best in business from around the world and has been blessed with the footprints of Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen and Ritwick Ghatak to name a few.

Venue for KIFF 2022

The venues where the movies would be played includes the 3 screens in Nandan along with Sisir Mancha, Nazrul Trtha, Rabindra Tirtha , Bangla Academy and Radha Studio. The week-long show offers tribute to French Director Alain Resnais, Italian Director Pier Paolo Pasolini along with Indian Director Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Asit Sen and Bharati Devi to name a few in an otherwise exhaustive list.

The films scheduled to be screened in the KIFF 2022 apart from the above includes a Retrospective of the Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan where few of his best works will be showcased like, Black, Deewar and Kala Pathar. However, a competition of Indian short films and documentaries by different directors is something to look forward as well.
