Kang the Conqueror has been prominent in MCU’s franchise

The hunt for idealism and perfection leads is what has lead us to idolize the Superheroes. Towing these lines, Marvel Cinematic Universe movies has drawn the attention across generations, gender and geographies. Kang the Conqueror portrayed in the latest venture of the franchise, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania has stirred the minds of the enthusiasts even before the new movie was released. Marvel has also made its presence known in TV series as well, like the Loki series.

The ever changing viewer preferences and behaviors has invited changes to the “ Ideal Superhero” scenario and right now, its more of performance and getting into the skin of the character rather than being morally right or wrong which is evident from the popularity of Kang the Conqueror.

Kang the Conqueror: Loki as the protagonist

Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced the time-travel concept with its blockbuster “ Avengers: Endgame”. The OTT series Loki, Marvel’s first superhero series in Disney+Hotstar begins where Avengers: Endgame ends, with Loki making an escape. Recollecting the fact that Loki in 2012 is the one who is still obsessed with ruling earth. He hasn’t reconciled with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) yet. He hasn’t helped save the Asgardian people. And he hasn’t been killed by Thanos.

Conquering the Multiverse of Madness

Quantamania’s mid-credits scene relies heavily on audiences being familiar with the idea of the multiverse. There are multiple parallel timelines happening at the same time with multiple versions of the characters in the MCU — spread across these timelines. We saw a glimpse of this in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home with variants of Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and of course, the Spiders-Man.

Kang the Conqueror, in the movie, had been exiled to the quantum realm in the unfathomable and unknown subatomic world that exists below ours — because of the cataclysmic threats. In order to get in unless one shrink to the tiniest size, and can’t get out either, unless you have the tech to navigate it. And because time functions differently in the multiverse, it’s possible to get lost there for all eternity.
