BSF catches Pakistan drone in Amritsar with 5-Kg Heroin for the 2nd time in as many days in the border districts. The previous incident happened in Bhaini Rajputana village last Thursday, where the drone was shot down by the Indian security forces on the Border. The incidents have drawn sharp criticism from the Indian Government and concerned officials at the border and the investigating authorities are currently trying to trace the receiver of the narcotics on the Indian side of the border.

BSF catches Pakistan drone near Amritsar with narcotics

As per the latest news coming from the Border Security Force, The drone was shot down near Rai village in the early hours of Friday. According to the BSF spokesperson, “At around 1.30 am, the BSF intercepted a drone near Rai village of Amritsar district. A police team joined the BSF for the search operation. A big packet containing the contraband was found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape along with a green nylon rope and hook attached. The gross weight of the five packets of heroin was 5.26kg,”

The Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit had an emergency meeting with the Officers of the Security Forces in the border districts and has requested for stepping up the vigil and cracking down on narcotics smuggling and weapons.

The second incident in as many days by Pakistan

In the earlier incident, the BSF troop found the suspected material during their subsequent search of the area. Soldiers found one large packet, wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape from the farming field on the outskirts of Village Rai. The tape was attached with a hook.

The troops were able to track down the smuggled contraband items due to their alertness. This time, the team was also joined by the police force during their search operations. The item recovered this time looked similar to heroin recovered days ago by the security team from the field. The packet was wrapped in yellow colored adhesive tape and was also recovered from the farming field on the outskirts of the Resar Kakkar village in Amritsar.
