Alia Bhatt grandfather from her maternal side, or the father of her mom Soni Razdan, who goes by Narendranath Razdan passed away on Thursday in Mumbai. As per the news he had been ailing for quite some time, after which he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital due to a lung infection along with associated respiratory complications. Alia, while sharing the message of her grandfather leaving for her heavenly abode, shared a heartwarming video where Mr. Razdan was seen cutting the cake on his 92nd birthday.

As the lung infection got the better of Alia Bhatt grandfather, even after being admitted in the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital, condolences started pouring in once the news of Alia Bhatt grandfather passing away was made public. Narendranath Razdan was known for his versatility as an avid golfer apart from being a music lover. His daughter, Soni Razdan, took to her social media handle to post a heartfelt note while announcing the death of her beloved father.

Alia Bhatt, who happened to receive the IIFA award this year for Best Actress, was not present in the award ceremony as she had been beside her ailing grandfather. Her message on her social media handle in way of a video, did reveal the bonding shared between the two.
“My grandpa. My hero. Played golf till 93. Worked till 93. Made the best omelet. Told the best stories. Played the violin. Played with his great-granddaughter. Loved his cricket. Loved his sketching. Loved his family & till the very last moment.. loved his life! My heart is full of sorrow but also full of joy .. because all my grandpa did is give us joy & for that feel blessed and grateful to have been brought up by all the light he had to give! Until we meet again,” she wrote.
Alia is currently on the verge of making her Hollywood debut with the movie, “Heart of Stone”, beside Gal Gadot. She also has a series of movies lined up in Bollywood including Jee Le Zara and Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani.
